The PC3 series from Kurzweil is built on our Kurzweil custom chip technology. The PC3 chip allows for more polyphony, more effects power, seamless effects switching, superb sound quality and a long list of exciting new features. The PC3 model is a 76-note semi-weighted keyboard with velocity and aftertouch sensitive keys. It includes a huge array of sounds, a synthesis engine, all coupled with a comprehensive sequencer. Building on the success of the K Series, the PC3 includes Kurzweil's Triple Strike Grand Piano, KB3 Mode, along with basses, drums, guitars, synthesizers for every genre, and over two hundred fifty string section and orchestral programs. The PC3's set up mode includes 48-step programmable patterns for both pitch and velocity per zone (allowing for up to 16 patterns to playback simultaneously), along with a collection of modes, scales and pre-programmed patterns. The unlimited track sequencer with 1536 PPQ resolution and superior effects processing allows the controller to function as a total music production DAW workstation. A USB interface and an xD card port further enhance the functionality of the PC3. A new memory allocation scheme means that the number of user ID slots for programs, songs, setups and QA banks has been expanded into the thousands. New V.A.S.T. algorithms have been added to the PC3's synth engine: Saw and Square Hard Sync Oscillators, Triple Saw Oscillator, and an algorithm which allows the signals from two layers to be mixed together with a third layer. The PC3 desktop editor for Mac and PC from SoundTower makes it even easier to tap the power of the PC3's Dynamic V.A.S.T. synthesis architecture.
